William "Dooley" Gilchrist is native of Jackson, Mississippi. He relocated to New Mexico in 1992 and earned his B.A. in Economics and Political Science from the University of New Mexico and his J.D., cum laude, from Boston University School of Law. His practice focuses on employment law and general business litigation. Dooley has successfully represented employers in proceedings before the New Mexico Department of Labor, the New Mexico Human Rights Division, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. He also has handled employment litigation for employers and public and private sector employees in administrative proceedings and state and federal courts in New Mexico as well as in other states under the New Mexico Human Rights Act, Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, Family Medical Leave Act, Fair Labor Standards Act, Age Discrimination in Employment Act, and False Claims Act.

Dooley also has represented companies in breach of contract, attorneys' fees, and other business disputes, including obtaining a judgment for over $2,000,000 in a dispute between a product manufacturer and distributor.

Prior to founding Davis & Gilchrist, P.C., Dooley practiced with Rodey, Dickason, Sloan, Akin & Robb, P.A., and Bannerman & Williams, P.A., in Albuquerque. While in law school, Dooley served as an editor for his law school's legislative drafting clinic. He also served as a staff member on the Boston University International Law Journal and as an intern at the Massachusetts Office for Refugees and Immigrants. He is admitted to practice in all state and federal courts in New Mexico and Arizona and the 9th and 10th Circuit Courts of Appeals.

Dooley is married with two kids. In his spare time he pounds the drums for the alt-garage-emo-rock band Stereogeist    when he's not training for ultra marathons.
